Ultrasound

Staff giving dog an ultrasound

Ultrasound is a valuable diagnostic tool that uses sound waves to produce images of the body’s internal organs. Abnormalities of the liver, spleen, kidneys, pancreas, bladder, and stomach are readily detected using ultrasound, often saving the animal’s life.

Rocky Gorge can also perform an echocardiogram, an ultrasound of the heart. It uses ultrasound waves to create images that allow the veterinarian to evaluate the heart size, valve function, and heart strength. It is the most accurate test for diagnosing heart disease in dogs and cats.
